GPL Construction has worked for the Cranswick Foods Group for the past 6 years on numerous projects. They have been an integral part of the construction team working alongside other like-minded specialist subcontractors. GPL have installed the composite wall and ceiling panels used in the formation of our processing and chilled/storage areas along with the installation of specialist doors and shutters. In addition to this, GPL have provided valuable advice on the latest panel and door systems to best suit the requirements of Cranswick Foods facilities.

One current project involves the replacement of existing polystyrene cored panels to the main butchery plant at our abattoir in Hull with new “fire-safe” PIR cored panels. The project has involved careful planning to ensure minimal disruption to the operation of the plant. Along with other sub-contractors, GPL have been key to the success of the project, having to adapt quickly and efficiently to changes in the plants schedules.

At Cranswick we have developed our own method of procuring and carrying out projects with the Cranswick Foods project team taking on the role of Designer and Principal Contractor and calling on specialist sub-contractors, such as GPL Construction, to join the team and undertake the works. This way we have been in close control of both the specification and the budget whilst being quick to respond to changes in the businesses requirements and able to cost engineers as the works progress.

GPL Construction have provided Cranswick Foods with a professional service responding to demanding projects, meeting time and quality requirements, whilst remaining competitive and keen to contribute to project design.

GPL Construction has undertaken various projects for Pinguin Foods UK Ltd.
In 2011 they were part of a team of specialist contractors undertaking a major refurbishment of the vegetable processing factory.
GPL installed the composite wall and ceiling panels in the processing area.

The latest project involved the construction of a large temperature controlled area on a mezzanine floor to enclose specialist packing operations again using fire safe PIR cored panels.
This project required careful planning to ensure a tight schedule was met and again involved GPL being flexible and working as a part of a team of specialist contractors and cooperating with the Pinguin project management team.

Pinguin Foods acted as Designer and Principal Contractor, GPL Construction as part of the team of contractors provided a professional service and responded to both projects demands ensuring they were completed on time.

These challenging projects were completed without any Health, Safety & Environmental incidents.
